Summer Outfit Inspiration

Summer

Summer is heating up over here in Oklahoma with temperatures already in the 90's. It makes getting dressed a chore. I tend to gravitate towards pieces that are light and comfortable that can be dressed up or down with a simple change of shoes.

1. A simple gold necklace adds a little jazz to any outfit. Ditch the bold statement necklaces this summer for something more delicate. Remember, less is more. Unless its diamonds. You can never have too many of those!

2. Gladiator sandals are pretty big this season. I was on the fence at first but I tried on these and fell in love. I did not however fall in love with the price. This version from Anthropologie is pretty similar to the Stuart Weitzmans and you probably won't have buyers remorse over a shoe that inevitably won't be in style next summer anyway.

3. Everyone needs a little white dress in their closet. With the weather being as hot as it is here the light cotton fabric is pretty forgiving. It's great for a lunch out with the girls or a date night with your significant other. Just don't wear it to a wedding. Don't be that girl.

4. I'm obsessed with my Elizabeth and James bucket bag. It's probably the most functional bag I've ever owned. It doubles as a backpack which is great when you are trying to haul around 2 kids and need all the hands you can get. This soft pink/mini bucket version would make any fashionista happy. Especially if you missed out on the restocking of the Mansur Gavriel bucket bags a few months ago.

5. Although it's a little bit too hot to rock a denim jacket right now in OK, you never know when a restaurant is going to jack the AC down to 65 degrees. It's a great piece to bring with you if you need something in a pinch. This Topshop jacket is lightweight and will make you look effortlessly cool.
